Student Employment
There are many job opportunities for students interested in mathematics.
The Department of Mathematics frequently needs Readers for correcting homework
and Teaching Assistants for assisting professors with discussions
and proctoring. Positions for full time students are at most 19 or 20 hours
a week.
Gain invaluable experience in areas of intrinsic importance to your
education while receiving financial support at the same time. Graduate
students have opportunities to teach, either as a Teaching Assistant
(TA) or as an Associate Instructor (AI), and to work in research while
employed as a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR). These positions provide
both salary and partial fee remission. To be considered, a graduate student must have a
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be registered in no less than twelve units.
